The chestnut color of Fiero Gato is a surprise because one more or less expects that a horse linebred to Ferseyn might likely be gray. Further, Fiero Gato has some roaning in his coat and a flaxen mane and tail.

Fiero Gato’s sire, bay Bh Jaipur, was a double grandson of Ferseyn. For many years Ferseyn was one of the three leading sires in North America (the other two were Abu Farwa and Alla Amarward; all three of these top sires were owned by H. H. Reese). Fiero Gato’s dam was a great-granddaughter of Ferseyn.

Bh Jaipur’s sire, bay El Gato, was considered by some, including Gladys Brown Edwards and H. H. Reese, to have been one of the best of Ferseyn’s sons. El Gato’s dam was El Sikada, sired by Sikin, who was full-brother to the great Farana. Bh Jaipur’s 2nd dam was the beautiful Joanna, full-sister of Abu Farwa. Joanna was chestnut with roaning in her coat.

The beautiful gray Feyns Ziah, dam of Fiero Gato, was a daughter of chestnut Ga’zi, one of the most beautiful and successful Abu Farwa sons and a horse who himself, in his time, topped the list of leading American Arabian sires.

Fiero Gato’s 3rd dam, Feyn, was a granddaughter of Farana. Feyn was a well known broodmare in her time.

Thus, it can be seen that Fiero Gato is a very well bred stallion of Crabbet/American bloodlines, with heavy Kellogg influence.

Fiero Gato is an attractive, typy horse with good bone and joints, and a nice trot. He has the attributes of a horse made to ride and work, combined with Arabian style and beauty.
