When visiting Howard Patton in 2002 to see his horses, Janice Siders and Carol Mulder saw Aya Lala and were very impressed with both her quality and pedigree. She is a double granddaughter of Kellogg-bred Zadir, a truly outstanding and extremely well bred stallion with excellent hindquarters. Janice and Carol also particularly liked the fact that Aya Lala’s dam, Aya Zolly, was a daughter of the fabulous mare Folla, herself with particularly good hindquarters. Folla was by the great sire Alla Amarward (for many years one of the three top Arabian sires in North America, sharing honors with Abu Farwa and Ferseyn) and x Folly, she a daughter of the important and influential mare Follyat. Folly’s sire, Abu Zeb, was a beautiful son of Abu Farwa, but one which did not get used much.

Aya Lala has truly excellent legs. Alignment and proportion are correct. She also has the Zadir hindquarters for which he was so admired. She has a nice, light forehand and neck. Her neck is clean, has a naturally fine throat, a natural arched shape, and comes out of her shoulders high, in the desired way. She has good withers and good depth through the heart. She is what her pedigree says she should be; she is impressive to see in the flesh.
