This fine old horse was rediscovered when he was 26 years old, after having spent the previous 13 years "lost" in obscurity. Between 1977 and 1989 he had sired 20 purebred foals and 2 half-Arabians - and then nothing more. In 2000 he was acquired by Martha Pierce at Beatty, Oregon.

Janice Siders and Carol Mulder visited Martha a couple of months after Tora Tornado had arrived at her place. Both were very impressed with the quality of the old horse, including the fact that at age 26 he had clean, strong, and good legs like a lucky 4 year old. He was also well balanced in his conformation and had good shoulders, withers, loins, coupling and hindquarters. His back was strong and straight like that of a well confrormed young horse, and he had a rather pretty Arabian head. His long neck was a little plain and straight, but it was also light and dry.

Sired by the beautiful *Bask son Tornado, whose dam was the Crabbet-bred and extremely lovely *Silwara, Tora Tornado's dam, Ferseyn Aegina, carried some of the best Crabbet/American lines. She was a granddaughter of *Raseyn, Faronek, Abu Farwa, and the well-bred Hyak.

Hardly believing that Tora Tornado could still be fertile at age 26 after not having been used for breeding for 13 years, Martha bred him, getting two last foals (full-brothers) from him, the last foaled in 2003 when Tora Tornado was 29 years old.
