For some time I admired this very attractive, good sized mare with her excellent balance, good legs, good conformation, and outstanding hindquarter. I also admired her beautiful sire and liked him. I thought about trying to acquire Tp Famealina from her breeders, Joan and Archie Johnson, and finally was able to do just that.

Tp Famealina is about 31.25% Egyptian. As I have seen within my own breeding program with my outcross filly Fancy Crystal, Egyptian blood works very well with Crabbet/American/Kellogg lines. When in England, I also observed that Egyptian blood worked very well with the English/Crabbet lines, and in Australia I observed that *El Shaklan, who was 50% Egyptian and 50% Spanish, did extremely well crossed with Australian bloodlines, including Australia’s Crabbet lines. In his day, *El Shaklan was a world renowned stallion who left his imprint in several countries. Tp Famealina is a granddaughter of *El Shaklan - which also means that Tp Famealina is 12.5% Spanish. About 6.25% of her pedigree is Polish. The remaining 50% of Tp Famealina’s pedigree is basically Crabbet/American, with lines to Kellogg stock included.

Thus, this outstanding mare brings into my breeding program some outcross blood, even though about half of her lineage traces to the old Crabbet/American lines. I plan to breed her back into Crabbet/American/Kellogg lines by using her with my own stallions, and sometimes I may also breed her to suitable outside stallions which fit my criteria regarding quality and breeding.
