Like many (but certainly not all) Arabians who run well, Aur Patriot also featured an absolutely magnificent and highly desirable natural trot which was ideal in every way. He was able to sire not only his running speed, but also his trot in many of his get.

Aur Patriot was an ideally conformed and balanced horse. He had a clean, arched neck, coming ideally high out of his shoulders, excellent shoulders, withers, body, loins, coupling, and beautiful strong, square, correct hindquarters. He carried a high, straight tail. He was a “horseman’s horse” riding type, but he also had a great lot of Arabian beauty and character.

In addition, Aur Patriot had an exceptionally good and kind disposition. He was what used to be called an “honest” horse. He was easy and nice to be around and to manage. His aim in life seemed to be to please and to make sure he was always good. Nothing ever seemed to bother him.

Aur Patriot came by all his attributes honestly. He was an unusually well-bred horse.

He was sired by the exceptional Aurab.

Aur Patriot’s dam, Alyna, was of 100% old (1925-1963) Kellogg blood. She was a daughter of the superb Kellogg-bred Nataf, which some have considered to be one of the two best sons of the great Kellogg-bred athlete and sire Farana; Nataf was also probably the most look-alike Farana son. Nataf’s dam was one of the fine Skowronek daughters at the old Kellogg Ranch. Aur Patriot’s 2nd dam was Aleba, sired by Alyf, for many years chief sire at the old Kellogg Ranch. Alyf was a beautiful horse of 15-1 hands with a particularly outstanding Arabian head, a noteworthy high, arched, and straight tail carriage, and an absolutely superb natural trot for which he was widely appreciated and which he sired with unusually strong prepotency. Aur Patriot’s 3rd dam was Bazikh, a Kellogg mare renowned for her ultra-extreme Arabian head and overall excellence. Her sire was the highly regarded 1904 Mesaoud son *Abu Zeyd. Mesaoud was one of the most influential stallions ever used at Crabbet Stud in England.

Aur Patriot was full-brother of Aur Pride.
