In her search to always do the best she can for her Arabian horse breeding program, Janice Siders has considerable - almost remarkable - ability to find “hidden” treasures with the qualities and breeding she wishes to utilize.

The aging Bayrabba is one such find. He became a “must see” horse because of his pedigree. His sire was the internationally successful Ben Rabba, a horse of significant importance to several Crabbet/American breeders, and without question one of the best sons of Aurab; some of Ben Rabba’s fans believe he was the best Aurab son. Bayrabba’s dam was a Zadir daughter. Kellogg-bred Zadir was another outstanding stallion of his era and also extremely important to some Crabbet/American breeders. 1952 Zadir, 1957 Aurab, and 1964 Ben Rabba were contemporary with each other and for awhile all were standing at the same time within a small area of California in the Monterey Bay area. The 2nd dam of Bayrabba was a mare sired by Saneyn, one of the best sons of Kellogg-bred Sureyn. This pedigree is excellent, indeed, and is over 60% old Kellogg.

Bayrabba seemed a “horse to use” after he was seen. He is a horse of substance. His legs are among his most noteworthy features; he has outstanding bone, joints, and feet. His head, in profile, is “strong,” but is chiseled, and very clearly the head of an Arabian. He has an unusually pretty Arabian face. His eyes are huge and dark, and set about 1/3 of the way down his head as is ideal for Arabian eyes. His nostrils are large and are placed correctly high in his muzzle; his nostrils are also placed closely to each other, as is the idea in Arabians. He has the small ears desired in Arabians.

Bayrabba is owned by his breeder, who is now Mrs. Sonna Hodges of Grass Valley, California.
