This nice mare is the result of my lease of her dam, Aya Lala, from her owner, Howard Patton, of Ramona, California. I had Aya Lala bred to Jim Eagleson’s stallion Fiero Gato. I am very pleased with the resulting daughter, Bella Zadira, who was a first-foal for both of her parents. Indeed, Bella Zadira is the only foal of her dam since Aya Lala died a couple of years after Bella’s birth. Thus, Bella Zadira carries a rather precious heritage.

During a 2003 visit to see Mr. Patton’s horses, I saw both Fiero Gato and Aya Lala. I liked them both tremendously, and I was also much impressed with the beautiful Crabbet/American/Kellogg pedigrees of both; the pedigrees read like a who’s who of this valuable breeding group of Arabian horses. In every way, both Fiero Gato and Aya Lala seemed to absolutely fit into my breeding program - as does Bella Zadira herself.

Bella Zadira is a bit smaller than some of my other mares, but only just a bit. She is strongly and very correctly built. She has powerful and impressive hindquarters which are noticed by most visitors who see her. Bella’s nature is sweet, affectionate, and friendly with a quiet, dignified, patient, and polite demeanor.
