Sparkling Summer is a very tall individual with a long neck, good shoulders and withers, deep body, and short back. She is built to ride and she is bred to run. She has a big, easy, effortless stride that, without her even trying, quickly overtakes the other mares as they run and play in their pasture, and puts her at the front of the herd; she clearly finds joy in her own speed. She has also shown that she can trot quite well, with great power; indeed, she appears to have considerable all around athletic potential. Further, Sparkling Summer has a particularly sweet disposition; she seems to be a kind horse with good will for everybody – horses and people.

Sparkling Summer comes by her size rightfully. Her sire is Ambir Dragon who stands, stick and level, 16-1 1/2 hands. This is probably a size record for an Arabian and he has been measured at this height by Carol Mulder and by track veterinarians. Ambir Dragon is a race winner and the sire of two stakes winners. He is sired by my stallion Night Dragon. Ambir Dragon’s dam, Ambir Enchantress, was sired by Rabian, a topline grandson of the great Farana. Rabian’s dam was the Crabbet import *Bint whose blood is not often seen. Rabian was a “lost” horse who was found and purchased in his old age by Linda Everett who gave him opportunity to sire Ambir Enchantress from Tezrima, a granddaughter of *Witez II. For awhile, some years ago, Ambir Enchantress was on the list of leading dams of race winners.

Sparkling Summer’s dam is Sparkling Diamond, a race winner and dam of the 12th ranking male money winner of the year 2000. Sparkling Diamond is a very beautiful Arabian mare of high caste, extremely high quality, and absolutely outstanding breeding.

I feel fortunate to have Sparkling Summer – not only because of her dam line of Mescca Sultana / Sparkling Siderr / Sparkling Diamond, but also because for some years I have wanted a daughter of the magnificent Ambir Dragon.

Sparkling Summer is a thrilling Arabian to own.
